Aunt Betty in Watercolor

This is my great Aunt Betty who is a very special and remarkable lady.  She was in her 90's when this picture was painted and it is incredible that she just celebrated her 106th birthday!!!
Happy Birthday Aunt Betty!!!  We Love You!!!!
Aunt Betty has amazing stories about her long career in Detroit as a floral designer and owner of a floral shop.  I spoke with her today and she told me that she continues to work and help people.  "I don't sit in a rocking chair and feel sorry for myself."

I asked her to comment on aging and she said:  "If you can grow older gracefully and happy you will accomplish everything."

I just love your portraits, I feel as though Aunt Betty is someone that I know from your painting and post, the eyes and mouth expression are fantastic and such a soft and colorful background. Love this.
